Gordon Bennett 2010 – a first for Great Britain.

Be a part of a unique, magical and exciting event.

Held in Great Britain for the very first time since it began in 1906, GB2010 is sure to attract the attention of the world’s media. Pilots, crews and spectators will arrive from across the continents to Great Britain for this most historic of aeronautical races.

Excitement and anticipation for the race out of GB began when David Hempleman-Adams won the 2008 race, the Gordon Bennett Trophy and with it the honour of his home country hosting the 2010 race.

World Records were broken and this excitement built as thousands of enthusiasts watched the 2009 race unfold on-line with a live link from each of the 16 participating balloons. Team GB2 containing two female pilots Janet Folkes and Ann-Ruth Rich broke the World Record for Female Flight Duration, flying for almost 70 hours, and three European teams landed in Algeria entering the record books by making the first three cross continental flights between Europe and Africa.

As so the excitement will continue as we prepare for the race to launch from Great Britain in September 2010.
